Longtime St. Louis improvisor
Howie Hirshfield and his improv
troupe, Not Quite Right (NQR),
are encouraging laughter and
helping to bring restoration to a
part of Hermann history.
During the Sixth Wine Country
Comedy Festival, NQR, Betty
Crawford, and the Mike Clark Trio
will be performing a variety show
of comedy and music.
The Wine Country Comedy
Festival will be held Saturday,
Aug. 29, with the doors opening at
6:30. A portion of the proceeds will
go to The Show Boat Theatre to
aid in the much-needed building
restoration.
"We're excited to be back in
Hermann for another of these
great Comedy Festivals -- and to
help the classic Show Boat Theatre
back to its glory days as a stylish
and active venue,” said Howie
Hirshfield, NQR founder.
Not Quite Right will host improv
games, audience participation and
live sketch comedy featuring
Howie Hirshfield, Clayton Bury,
Sarah
Hirshfield,
Annina
Christensen, Denise Saylor, Jelani
Buchanan, Shannon Nara, Apple
Alaina and James Scheffel.
In St. Louis, the NQR has
appeared in shows at Blueberry
Hill, the Lemp Loft and the St.
Lou Fringe. Hirshfield co-founded
Not Quite Right in 2012 and start-
ed the Wine Country Comedy
Festival in conjunction with his
previous improv troupe, the Arch
Rivals.
“We are thrilled to be able to
hold the Wine Country Comedy
Festival with the Not Quite Right
improve troupe at The Show Boat
this summer. They are extremely
entertaining and will provide a
fabulous show for us.” said Tim
Puchta, Show Boat president. “We
are very grateful to NQR for gra-
ciously offering to donate part of
the evening’s proceeds to help in
our fund-raising efforts to repair
and restore The Show Boat.”
All fund raising and renova-
tions for The Show Boat are man-
aged by volunteers and all dona-
tions go to restoring and improv-
ing the theatre infrastructure and
providing new technology for
movie and theatre shows.
If you would like to make a
donation, send a check to: The
