CHURCH GUIDE Page 13 Rocky Point Baptist Church 2297 Silver City Road; Russellville Rocky Point Baptist Church is the little white church on the side of the road where the love of God and power of prayer are emphasized every time the doors are open! Sundays are busy at our church with Sunday School beginning at 9:45 a.m. and morning worship at 10:45 a.m. Dis- cipleship Training begins at 6 p.m. with evening wor- ship following at 6:45 p.m. Wednesday night services begin at 7 p.m. Church services are also posted to Facebook and YouTube. Pastor Ross Woody and his wife Ruthie lead our church. We are so blessed they answered God’s call to our church! We can always count on good solid preaching from the Word of God; a deep belief in the power of prayer; and a genuine concern for the lost and the sick. They are so musically talented and share such a sense of humor that we treasure them greatly. Sunday School is the heart of our Bible teaching- reaching ministry. Graded small groups are provided for all ages. From the nurs- ery to the Young Adults to the Senior Ladies class, we have a place for all age groups. This enables us to discover and apply the relevant teachings of the Bible for every stage of life. Worship – whether it be the preaching of the Word, good old-fashioned hymn singing, or special music -- includes those experiences designed to help persons know the presence of the Holy Spirit, express adora- tion to God, reaffirm com- mitment to Jesus Christ, and renew their spirits. Prayers meetings on Wednesday nights have become such a source of encouragement and inspira- tion for our church family. We have prayed fervently for children and babies to come into our church fam- ily. Our prayers are being answered as we welcome families into our midst. As a result, Children’s Church has been revived on Sun- day mornings, and Kids’ Power Hour has been start- ed on Wednesday nights. We are seeing the Hand of God at work in a very spe- cial way. It is such a joy to see those children! To God be the glory! Our church choir has not been very active during the last three years due to COVID, but we are prac- ticing again; this time, get- ting ready for our Easter musical—Messiah Over- came. What a message in song! Our congregation always looks forward to Vacation Bible School each summer. Children, youth, and some- times even adults, come out for evenings of Bible study, mission stories, music, crafts, and yes— snacks. Our Women on Mission group continues to pro- mote mission projects and encourages the church to participate. The ladies are constantly working on local mission projects— sewing burp cloths for the Pregnancy Crisis Center; sewing comfort pillows for children who are admitted to the hospital for surgery; and making fidget pads and bibs for participants at ALPS. Women on Mission meet once a month—on the first Thursday evening. Packing shoeboxes for the Samaritan Purse Oper- ation Christmas Child project is a favorite annual event. Filling baby bottles with money for the ultra- sound ministry and dia- per drive at the Pregnancy Crisis Center is another project in which the whole church participates. Sup- porting Morristown’s Daily Bread ministry and Central Services also allows us to reach out to those who need assistance in our own area. We invite you to join us as we meet to worship; as we are encouraged by the words of the hymns we sing; reassured by the comforting words of scrip- ture; and uplifted by the prayers of our people.
