Isabella English, Ella Farmer, Ethan Eldridge, Isaac Parlier, Zavier Fowler, Brady Welch, Jonas Carter and Haidan Curry were all selected to the Tennessee Music Education Association’s (TMEA) All-State Band. These students will next travel to perform with the All-State Band at the TMEA Annual State Conference at Opryland Hotel in Nashville on Saturday, April 13. “Earning a seat in the Tennessee All- State Band is our state’s highest honor and also awards them the status of grad- uating with distinction in May,” said THS Co-Director Justin Scott. This recognition follows the news that Tullahoma City Schools had several stu- dents named to the Middle Tennessee School Band and Orchestra Association’s (MTSBOA) Mid-State Band. In total, TCS saw 35 middle and high school students receive seats and alternate seats in en- sembles. “THS Co-Director Lisa Burden and I are ecstatic with the results of this year’s Mid-State and All-State auditions,” Scott said. “Year in and year out, our students put Tullahoma on the map when it comes to regional clinic band audition represen- tation. We are proud to have record num- bers that choose to audition each year. Just by working to prepare themselves for an audition of this caliber, our students are improving not only their individual musi- cianship but also the band as a whole. The top-ranked students who make the gold bands are awarded a seat in our state’s top ensembles at All-State. This year, we are proud to tie with only one other high school to have themost All-Statemembers fromMiddle Tennessee.” Members of the Mid-State Band par- ticipated in a January clinic in Murfrees- boro, where they rehearsed with talented conductors nationwide. The rehearsals were to prepare for a performance at Lip- scomb University in Nashville. East and West Middle School had a combined 10 students have seats in the MTSBOA Mid-State Band. Those par- ticipants were Kaylee Casselman, Isaac McVey, Wen Ni Lin, Lexi Brown, Sadie Massingille, Cayden Jernigan, William Dawe, Sam Howard, Javier Fletcher and Aiyanna Dale. THS had nine students selected to the Mid-State Ninth/10th Grade Band, with 12 students named to the 11th/12th Grade Band.
