Summer Local Living May 2024— 11 LACIE SILVA Contributor E ach year, hundreds of people gather in Jasper for the annual Jasper Big Boom celebration, hon- oring Independence Day. This year, the festivities will take place on July 6, from 4 p.m. to after 9 p.m., at 700 Phillips Ave. in Jasper. Those interested in being a food or product vendor can contact Jasper City Hall at (423) 942- 3180. The event promises a day of summer fun with delicious food, family-friendly games, and activities, all culminating in a grand fi reworks show, re- nowned as the best in the val- ley. Entrance to the event is free, with individual pricing for vendor purchases. Con- fi rmed vendors will include Faces by Deb for character art, Shiver Shack and Sugar Rush o ff ering shaved ice, ice cream, and cotton candy, Roger Alder with handmade stained glass, and the Gym Gypsy selling handmade jew- elry.
