Morristown Magazine 79 Back from the Dead Once condemened to be torn down, the Bradley Building has hope of new life T he Bradley building downtown was supposed to be gone. Decades of inattention left what was deemed by most to be an unsalvageable chunk of Mo- rristown’s history. The death warrant had been signed. The date of execution announced. And then… nothing happened. A buyer with the vision and knowledge to resurrect the architectural dead arrived. Now, the building, along with the former Belk Building, will form a new centralized hub of development in the growing commu- nity, serving Morristown for generations to come. The entire block of buildings intersecting West Main, Cumberland and First North streets, despite the dilapidated state of seve- ral of them, caught the eye of David Silvers- tein, CEO of New York’s Integrated Project Delivery Partners. Silverstein, who has led the company since 2010, has family that has lived in the Dandri- dge and Knoxville area for five generations.
