Request for Public Comment Normandy Reservoir / Duck River Optimization of Reservoir Releases TVA is proposing to modify operation of Normandy Reservoir by changing the typical flow releases of water from the dam. TVA is proposing to release water to meet a target at the Shelbyville gage (28 miles downstream of the dam) that is based on the average flows at Shelbyville over the course of a week (through 2400 hours on Sunday) rather than releasing flows to maintain the Shelbyville flow target instantaneously (i.e., measured during one instant in time). TVA is not proposing to modify the reservoir guide curve of Normandy or change the minimum flows released from the dam. In compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act, TVA has prepared a draft Environmental Assessment (EA) that addresses the proposal’s environmental impacts. The draft EA is now available for public review and comment at www.tva.gov/NEPA Comments on the proposal and the EA must be received on or before June 28, 2024 . TVA will host a virtual meeting/webinar on June 13, 2024 , at 5 p.m. (CT). To register, please visit the website.
