Crawford entered the apartment, Cozart was sitting on the couch passed out and the needle was on the fl oor. When Cozart woke up and stated she was trying to clear out the needle to use it. She said she was very tired be- cause she had not used since the day before. EMS was called and checked her out but she re- fused treatment. Shoplifting On April 3, a city o ffi cer was dispatched to Walmart concerning shoplifting. A Walmart employee stated that awhitemale took a plate of food and attempted to scan a sex toy with the wrong tag in order to get the item for a cheaper price. He took the tag o ff of a hair band and placed it into the box in attempt to conceal the fact that he was shoplifting the item. After an employee said something to him regarding him using another tag, he fl ed on foot and took the food with him but left the sex toy behind at the register with the other tag still in the box. The box for the sex toy was damaged but recovered. The suspect has not been identi fi ed. Robbery Reported On April 9, at approximate- ly 9:25 a.m., it was reported that a robbery had occurred at 200 Tiger Blvd. and two armed men with masks, gloves, and hoodies left on foot in the di- rection of Marshall Elemen- tary School. Paul Baxter stated that when he went to check him mail, two males wearing a black mask, black hoodie, black gloves, jeans, and white shoes came up to him and both males pointed a pistol at him and said if he did not give him the money, they would shoot him. Baxter stated he gave them $690 and the two ran to- ward the school. City and county units pa- trolled the area and checked the school property but no contact was made with the two subjects. Camera footage was viewed and during that time frame, there was no footage of Baxter checking his mail or any individuals. Female Unresponsive On April 13, Cpl. Dustin Turner responded to 960 N Ellington Parkway in reference to a welfare check on a female who had been in the bathroom for at least 30 minutes. Cpl. Turner and FTO McCa ff erty entered into the restroom and spoke with the female who was in one of the stalls. She was observed having an indention caused by something tied around her arm. She said the shirt that she had previously worn made the indention. She stated she had no narcotics. After searching her belongings, a zip lock bag with a white crystal substance was found along with several syringes, a cut plastic straw, and an unknown narcotic. Margaret Manning was placed under arrest and trans- ported to the Marshall County Jail. The business asked that her vehicle be removed from the property and while doing an inventory, a black bag with a large amount of syringes was recovered. Manning was served with warrants and issued a court date. Theft On April 16, Deputy Callens was dispatched to 1520 Verona Caney Road. Binkley stated that over the radio there was a truck in the parking lot that had forcibly removed an ATM from its position. A green ’96 Dodge Ram with a chain hooked to the rear was unoccupied with the engine running. Tracks leading from the destroyed ATM were present over the lawn of the Walking Horse Assn. next to the bank as well as the parking lot. A second set of tire tracks were observed next to the truck and the ATM appeared to be pried open. The truck belongs to Jerry Freeman of 823 Finley Beech Road. He was contacted and he and his wife stated that they were unaware that the truck was missing and it had been parked for an extended period of time next to the house. The truck has mechanical problems. Shattered glass was observed on the ground where the truck had been parked. Detective Santiago was contacted in reference to this call and he responded.
