She was born May 6, 1924, to Shula and BessieMcAdams Davis. Theola was raised in the Yell community and at- tended Cornersville School and graduated in 1942 fromMarshall CountyHigh School. She worked many years atHeil Quaker Corpo- ration beforemoving to Texas where shemet her husband O.E.HapBlue. Theymade their home inLivingston, Texas until 2001. After returning toTennessee, she resided in the Cornersvilleuntil thedeathof herhusbandandbrother-in- law, Milo Sutherland. Theola and her sister, Roslyn, then moved to Lewisburg, living together until Roslyn’s death in January. She was a member of Church Street Church of Christ. Theola was preceded in death by her husband, O.E. Hap Blue; parents, Shula and BessieMcAdams Davis; sis- ter, RoslynDavis Sutherland. He was amember of Westvue Church of Christ where he served as an elder for 21 years. JoewasbornJuly1, 1943, in Lewisburg, Tennessee, to the late Joseph Harold and Minnie Parks George. In ad- dition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Harriet GeorgeHendrix. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Jane Cook George; onedaughter, Kristin (Tres) Beasley of Lewisburg; two sons, Daniel (Kasey) George and Jeremy (Hannah) George both of Lewisburg; thirteen grandchildren, J.W., Ella, Elizabeth, Miles, Will, Gri ffi n, AnnElise, Ben, Hardy, Trulie, Gus, Hogan, andMaven Jane. Joe was well known in Marshall County as a longtime baseball and assistant football coach. He was the baseball coach for 37 years and the defensive football coach for 22 years. He was inducted into the Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association’s Hall of Fame in 2019 as well as the Tennessee Baseball Coaches’ Hall of Fame. Prior to his retirement in 2009, Coach George compiled an 803- 262 record over 37 years as the Tigers’ baseball coach, leading the program to 12 state tournament appearances, four state runner-up fi nishes and state titles in 1983, 1993 and 1994. In his spare time, he enjoyed maintaining the ball fi elds, bushhogging his property andworkingwith the chainsaw. He was an avid Bluegrass music fan. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchil- dren. Joe always had a joke to share and was delighted when he couldmake someone laugh. She was born March 30, 1959, in Shelbyville, Tennessee, to the late Melvin (Gene) and Nancy Bartlett George. She recently retired after 40 years of working at Lewisburg Printing Company. She en- joyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Jeremy Todd McElhaney and two brothers, Gerry George and Melvin George, Jr. She is survived by her husband, Max McEl- haney; son Brian (Heidi) McElhaney of Lewisburg; grandchildren Caleb, Parker, and GrahamMcElhaney; sister Connie (Dale) Wis- er of Lewisburg. Top Ten Continued from Page 1 Charles Edward “Charlie” Perryman Charles Edward “Charlie” Perryman, 71, of Lewisburg, Tennessee, died Friday, April 12, 2024, at NHC Lewisburg. He was born December 3, 1952, in Lewisburg, Ten- nessee, to the late Howard Perryman and Jewel Hedge- coth. He was a self-employed fl ooring installer and enjoyed cruising around town, fi shing, and football. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Jackie Perryman and his long-time partner, Sam- mie Lynn Fox. He is survivedby twodaughters, ChelseaPerrymanand Jennifer Thomason; two sons, Je ff Perryman and Chase Perryman; one brother, Johnny Perryman; two sisters, Carolyn Middleton and Judy Hargrove all of Lewisburg; seven grandchildren and one great grandchild.
