6A —The Marion Tribune, Thursday, September 5, 2024 Obituaries Willie Sue Hill (Partin), age 88 Willie Sue Hill (Partin), age 88, of Decherd, passed away peacefully on August 27, in Winchester, at Viva of Franklin County. Born in Decherd, Willie Sue was a cherished member of the community and a devout attendee, before her sickness, of Gum Creek Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She loved gospel music, especially Elvis, and really enjoyed singing in the church choir. She graduated from Franklin County High School in 1952. Willie Sue dedicated many years of service to the United States Postal Service, a career that re fl ected her commitment and work ethics. She was also a realtor for Century 21. She served on the Franklin County Commission for 16 years and was a member of the Planning and Zoning Committee. She also served on the Fair Board for many years. She was known for her love of the outdoors, particularly gardening, puzzles, and crocheting, which were among her favorite pastimes. Her greenhouse and fl ower gardens were a testament to her green thumb and dedication to beauty. Willie Sue was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She is survived by her daughter, Kay Caldwell (Roger); son, Randy Hill (Donna); siblings, Molly Perry, Shirley Burch (Wayne), and Roy Partin; grandchildren, William (Bill) Drye (Tara), Kayla Lowery, Jonathan Hill (Amy), Jeremy Hill (Crystal), Jordan Hill (Julie), Amy Bryant (Je ff ), Amanda Jones (Chris), Kelly Golden (Joey), Lucas Bradley (Monica), Joshua Bradley (Nakia), and Carrie Finchum (Allen); 18 great grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband, Everett Hill; her parents, Edith and Beelus Partin; and brothers, Joe Bill Partin, Johnny Ray Partin, grandchildren Jonah Isaac Bradley, Nathon Braxton Hill, brother-in-law Alton Perry and sister-in-law Mary Helen Partin. Visitation was held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, August 29, at Gum Creek Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 3366 Gum Creek Road in Decherd. Visitation was on Friday, August 30, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. with services following at 2 p.m. Burial immediately followed the services at Watson Funeral Home and Memorial Park. Services were entrusted to Jasper Memorial Funeral Home, 150 Cornerstone Drive in Jasper. Family requests that all donations go to GumCreek Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Memory of Willie Sue. Willie Sue’s life was a beautiful example of love, dedication, and service, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew her. Her memory will be cherished and celebrated by her family, friends, and community. The Marion Tribune – September 5, 2024 Jerry Church, 66 Jerry Church, 66, of South Pittsburg, passed peacefully with family by his side on Tuesday, August 27. Jerry was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was married to the love of his life, Martha, for forty years prior to her passing. Jerry was the proud father to his two children, Matt and Abby. As a former defensive end, he loved watching South Pittsburg Pirate football. He was an active member in his community owning a small business with his brother for 20 years. Later in his career, Jerry joined SVEC and worked as a lineman until his retirement. The greatest joy of his life was spending time with his family, especially his four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Jaynes Church; parents, Martin Church and Iva Jean Brown Church; brother-in-law, Pete Wilkerson. Survivors include his children, Matt (Brett) Church and Abby (Matt) Massengale; grandchildren, Ethan Church, Landrie Church, Sawyer Church, and Clint Massengale; brother, James (Terri) Church; sisters, Brenda Wilkerson and Beverly Lee and several nieces, and nephews. Funeral services were held on Saturday, August 31, at 2 p.m. at Rogers Funeral Home, South Pittsburg Chapel with Pastor Calvin Nunley o ffi ciating. Interment followed at Cumberland View Cemetery in Kimball. She was of the Baptist faith and employed by the Marion County School System. She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Ella Mae Cannon. Leann is survived by her best friend and love of her life, Colt Ridley; father, Waymon (Amanda) Ewton Jr. Dunlap; mother, DK Hawk of Maryland and step-mother, Rose Atiyeh; brothers, Caleb Ewton Dunlap, Michale Turner, Spring Hill, TN; grandparents Waymon (Donna) Ewton, Dunlap, Lillie (Greer) Moody, Rossville, GA; Dickie (Linda) Kell, Pikeville, TN; uncles, Jonathan (Cresta) Ewton, Dunlap; Douglas Ewton, Indiana; aunt Cindy (Steve) Marlowe, Oliver Springs, TN. The Marion Tribune – September 5, 2024 JoAnn Wells Jones, 82 JoAnn Wells Jones, 82, of Jasper was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on August 30. On September 4, 1941, she was born to the late John Henry Wells and Bonnie Smith Wells. JoAnn was the Salutatorian of the 1960 class of Marion County High School. She was married to the late Lee Alton Jones for sixty years. JoAnn was hired as the fi rst town clerk for the City of Jasper in 1960 and continued her service there for sixty years. For her dedication of service, they named the City Hall, “The JoAnn Jones Municipal Building”. JoAnn was a member of Bible Baptist Church on East Valley Road in Jasper and was also their clerk, piano player and treasurer. She enjoyed sewing, cooking and canning, loved her family and spending time with them. She loved and had several cats throughout her life. JoAnn loved her church and Jesus Christ. JoAnn is preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, John Leonard Wells and sister, Donna Faye Wells. Left to cherish her memories are her daughter, Cyndy (Sherwin) Smith; brother, James Darrell Wells; sister, Frances Lawson; sister-in-law, Vickie Wells; grandchildren, Brandon (Kim) Jones, Zachary (Kellie) McCoin, Alison (Matt) Dorton; Nic (Carly) Smith, Brett (Haley) Smith; several great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other family members and special friends.
