First Days of School: Marion County Schools Wednesday, August 7 Richard Hardy MS Thursday, August 8 Jackson County, AL Tuesday, August 6 Kimball Christian Academy Monday, July 29 Bridgeport Ele- mentary School: The ‘Back to School Night’ will be Monday, August 5. A parent meeting will begin at 5 p.m. and ‘Meet the Teacher’ and drop o ff supplies conducted from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Bridgeport Middle School: The ‘Back to School Splash Bash’ will be Thursday, August 1. ‘Meet the Teacher’ will be from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. and the ‘Splash Bash’ held from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. There will be in fl atables, water slides and games. The Shiver Shack will ar- rive at 5 p.m. with treats to purchase. All BMS and BES students and com- munity kids are welcome. Please remember to bring a towel and appro- priate swimwear . Jasper Elemen- tary School: JES will post class rosters on their front doors starting Mon- day, July 29 at 9 a.m. for parents to see who their students’ teacher is. Packet Pick up will be heldMonday, July 29 and Tuesday, July 30. These will be drive through pickups by grade: July 29 – PreK from noon to 1 p.m. // K from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. and Grade 1 from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. July 30 – Grade 2 from noon to 1 p.m., Grade 3 from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., and Grade 4 from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. If you have students in multiple grades, par- ents are asked to pick one time slot and request all packets at the same time. ‘Meet the teacher’ will be on Monday, August 5 for the following ses- sions: Morning session: Grades 2, 3, and 4 at 8 a.m. PreK, K, and Grade 1 at 9:30 a.m. OR Afternoon ses- sions: Grades 2, 3, and 4 at 3:30 p.m. PreK, K, and Grade 1 at 4:40 p.m. Jasper Middle School: The ‘Back- to School Bash’ will be Monday, July 29 from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the current JMS building on 601 Elm Ave. During this time enjoy ‘Meet the teacher,’ see your daily schedule, pick up carpool numbers and connect with local vendors and shop, fi ll out registra- tion paperwork and have questions answered. Marion County High School: Regis- tration Day for students who did not attend an early registration event the week of Monday, July 22 will be Monday, Au- gust 5 from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. ‘Senior Sunrise’ will be on Wednesday, Au- gust 7 starting at around 5:30 a.m. Monteagle Ele- mentary School: Reg- istration packet pickup begins Monday, July 29 through August 2 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the school o ffi ce. ‘Meet the teacher’ and registration will be on Monday, Au- gust 5 from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. As a reminder this is the deadline for bringing in completed paperwork. Grade 5 stu- dents may practice using lockers during this time. Car riders will receive a mandatory car tag that must be displayed in the vehicle when picking up students. Kindergarten students will learn which days they will attend for staggered entry. Richard Hardy School: Registration for returning students will be Tuesday, August 6 from 3 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. to complete packets, pay fees, ‘Meet the teacher,’ get schedules and sports signups. Parents may bring school supplies la- beled with students’ full name and grade. Poten- tial new students must interview and have cur- rent proof of address, re- port card, and attendance records on hand. South Pittsburg El- ementary: Registration paperwork pickup will be Thursday, July 25 on Holly Ave. at the entrance to the gym from 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m., 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. For Guardian Orientation times please visit the SPES FB page. South Pittsburg HighSchool: Drive thru Registration paperwork pickup will be Thursday, July 25, at the follow- ing times: 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m., 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the main entrance on Elm Avenue. If you can- not make it during one of those times parents may pick up paperwork dur- ing business hours after Thursday, July 25. Come by on Tuesday, July 30, from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the SPHS Gym for lots of fun events, giveaways and food and drink. Par- ents and students are reminded to bring all pa- perwork to pick up class schedules. StevensonElemen- tary School: The ‘Back to School Night’ will be Friday, August 2 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. ‘Meet the teacher,’ drop o ff school supplies, complete the online enrollment pro- cess, back to school pho- to ops and refreshments will be provided. Stevenson Middle School: ‘Meet the teach- er’ and enrollment infor- mation will be Friday, August 2 from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. There will be a Title 1 Parent Meeting at 5 p.m. Parents are re- minded that enrollment forms must be completed online this year. A cur- rent email address will be needed to enroll and there will be computers available for use. Whitwell Elemen- tary School: Regis- tration packets may be picked up in the front lobby during business hours. Registration will be Monday, August 5 from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. or 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. during ‘Popsicles on the Playground.’ ‘Popsicles on the Playground’ will be held Monday, Au- gust 5 from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. After ‘Meet the teacher’ and drop- ping o ff supplies and registration paperwork, students will receive a ticket for a Popsicle. Par- ents are required to ac- company their student(s) to the green playground through the little theater doors. There students will turn in their ticket for a free Popsicle. Pop- sicles will also be provid- ed for younger siblings who are not yet in school. Parents are reminded to please bring your driver’s license to be scanned into the Raptor System. Whitwell Middle School: The ‘Back to School Block Party’ will be Monday, July 25 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. for ‘Meet the teachers,’ obtain sup- ply lists and visit ven- dors for the new school year. Registration will be Monday, August 5 if you do not attend the block party. Whitwell High School: On Monday, August 5 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. students may walk their schedule, tour the building, turn in their registration pack- ets and play fun games. Packets may be picked up on Tuesday, July 23, 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. or Au- gust 5 from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. prior to the Back-to- School event. School Supply Giveaway Events Give a Child A Chance Drive Thru Event on Wednesday, July 31 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Chatt State Kimball Campus. Free backpacks and school supplies will be handed out while sup- plies last on a fi rst come, fi rst serve basis. Jasper VFW & Aux will be giving away back- packs on Saturday, Au- gust 3 from 10 a.m. to noon at 102 Pine Ave. in Jasper. Yum Yums will have a back-to-school supply giveaway on Saturday, August 3 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at 104 4 th Street in South Pittsburg.
