The Marion Tribune, Thursday, June 13, 2024— 9A O n June 3rd, the Crossroads Ruritan hosted the 2024 Whitwell High School valedicto- rian, Riley Smith and her parents, Glenn & Shan- non Smith at their regular monthly meeting. The club’s treasurer, Johnny Morrison, pre- sented the Crossroads Ruritan Scholarship check to Riley. Riley plans to attend Tennessee Tech and pursue a degree in nursing. We wish her the best. Crossroads Ruritan has been providing the WHS Valedictorian with a scholarship since 1968. Kathy Johnson, from the Palms Up Women’s Foundation also made a presentation to the Cross- roads Ruritan and sev- eral guests at the regular meeting on June 3rd. This group works to enrich the lives of mothers and chil- dren in Marion County by teaching life skills that are necessary for them to thrive in motherhood. The Ruritan members were inspired to make a donation to her founda- tion to support their ef- forts and encourages oth- ers to also support this group. CoachWallace brings a wealth of experience from his tenure at esteemed in- stitutions of Harpeth Hall School and The Ensworth School, where he served as a middle/high school teacher and coached at the varsity level. His dedi- cation to the development of student-athletes both academically and athleti- cally aligns perfectly with the values we hold dear at St. Andrew’s-Sewanee School. In addition to his coaching prowess, Coach Wallace’s background in teaching English and history will undoubtedly enrich the lives of our stu- dent-athletes beyond the soccer fi eld. His commit- ment to fostering a sup- portive and inclusive team environment re fl ects our school’s ethos of nurtur- ing well-rounded individ- uals who excel in all facets of life.
