Dwight, 55, and Barba- ra, 58, passed away as con- fi rmed by family members and an eyewitness. The Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) is investigating the fatal crash but has not yet provided any details. In Whitwell, along Highway 28 and East Georgia Avenue, a sign outside the Dairy Bar, where Barbara worked, reads “WE WILL MISS YOU BARB,” honoring the couple. Students work dur- ing their Senior year to earn wages, as well as earn college hours during their pre-ap- prenticeship, which accumulate for their apprenticeship at Chattanooga State. Students from Marion County who are participating this year are: Jacob Gayton, Skyler Ritchie, Aiden Swafford for Weld- ing; Tucker Sims for Machining; (all from Marion County High School) - Payton Roberts, Wyatt Davis and Blaine Henry (not pictured), for Indus- trial Maintenance - all from Whitwell High School. Jasper honors Memorial Day in Courthouse Square ceremony LACIE SILVA Editor J asper held a touching ceremony to honor fallen heroes for Memo- rial Day on Monday, May 27, just outside the Mari- on County Courthouse. Despite a fallen tree limb obstructing Main Street, Mayor David Jackson ensured that the memorial proceedings continued by arranging for the tree’s removal.
