Although it didn’t turn into a team win, the Sharks had several swimmers post great fi nal times and took individual wins. The Sharks started o ff the meet with back- to-back Mixed Medley relay victories with the 8-under team and the 9-10 age group posting wins. Christine Belden fol- lowed with a win in the girls 6-under 25-meter freestyle and Shelbyville added individual free- style wins by Luna Miller in the 7-8 25-meter free- style, Voille James in the 9-10 50-meter freestyle, and a win by Juliet Az- peitia in the girls 11-12 50-meter freestyle. In the older group, it was Paizley Hodges and Jullian Azpeitia taking wins in the 15-18 girls and boys races. The Sharks then posted four-straight wins by Luna Miller, Aiden Rhea, Maddie Marsh and Brody Erickson to start the breaststroke. Cora Belden took a win in the girls 9-10 25-meter backstroke, but McMinnville rattled o ff fi ve-straight backstroke wins until Hodges took the win in the girls 15- 19 50-meter backstroke and Julian Azpeitia won his race in the boys 15-19 50-meter backstroke. Gabriel Shibayama posted a win for the Sharks in the boys 11- 12 50-meter butterfly and Ally Maybee took the win in the girls 15-19 50-meter butterfly. The Sharks were back in their home pool at the Shelbyville Recreation Center on Tuesday eve- ning, however results were unavailable by press time.
