24 —Summer Local Living May 2024 N earest Green Distillery, located on U.S. 231 in Shelbyville, is “turning up the heat” with new immersive tours, events, celebrations, and unique ex- periences. On Friday, June 7, Humble Baron will be hosting a Prince Tribute night, featuring the Gerald Richardson Band, from 7:30 p.m. until closing. Also, on Father›s Day, June 16, there will be a special menu and brunch option from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., featuring Sage Brined Chicken and Sweet Potato Waffles, Chorizo Hash, French Toast Breakfast w/Whiskey and Peach Jam, Shrimp and Grits, Fried Catfish and Grits, Buttermilk Pancakes, and of course, Biscuits and Sausage Gravy. The Brunch Menu from 10 a.m. to close will in- clude Hickory Smoked Wings, HB Double Smash, House made Chips and Dip Flight, and Love and Whiskey Pecan Cheesecake. On June 30, Uncle Nearest Whiskey co- founder Fawn Weaver and Master Blender Victoria Eady Butler will be stopping in at the Shelbyville distillery for the “Love & Whiskey Unfiltered Book Tour Experience.” It will be an opportunity to delve into the heart of the story with Weaver, as well as en- joy an exclusive whiskey tasting led by Butler, a 5th generation Nearest Green descendant and the 4-time Master Blender the Year. In a “fireside chat” setting, guests will have access to one of the most talked about Nearest Green offers Southern comfort food, drinks, and music ‘LOVE AND WHISKEY’
