The Lure of Lake Anna 2023

Lake Anna’s 13,000 acres and more than 200 miles of shoreline attracts a lot of boats. And Duke’s Creek Marina has been a one- stop shop for all things boating since the mid-1970s. The marina was the second boating business built on the lake. Duke’s Creek Marina sells, rents and fixes boats for visitors and residents of the Lake Anna community. The business changed ownership in 2005 and general manager Judy Jones has been heading operations since. But she’ll retire at the end of the year, with Dawn Ripley stepping in as her successor. Both Ripley and Jones say the job never has a dull mo - ment. They manage the store, campsite, marina and a staff of roughly 25 employees in the summer months and 10 employees during the winter.
